Regina De Berardinis, UK-trained biochemist, Gut Health Expert and founder of GeniusGut

About Regina

Scientist. Educator. Founder. Human.

UK-trained biochemist · Gut Health Expert · Founder of GeniusGut

The science became personal. Then it became a method.

For years, Regina experienced recurring acne, digestive discomfort and repeated courses of antibiotics. Each one addressed a symptom on its own; none of them created a lasting solution.

Rather than accepting that as simply “how her body was,” she became curious. The question shifted from how do I treat this symptom to why do these patterns keep repeating, and how are they connected?

That question led her back to the biochemistry she was studying, and specifically, to the gut as a system that touches far more than digestion: immune function, inflammation, skin, energy. She began looking at her body not as a set of separate problems, but as one interconnected system.

That shift, from treating symptoms to understanding systems, became the foundation GeniusGut is built on.

Scientific Background

A biochemist's foundation.

Regina is a UK-trained biochemist and Gut Health Expert, founder of GeniusGut. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry with Foundation Year from Middlesex University London, completed in 2022.

Her academic focus spans years studying the relationship between the gut microbiome, skin inflammation and neural inflammation: the foundation the entire GeniusGut method is built on.

Research & academic focus

  • Molecular biology
  • Immunology
  • Biochemical research methods
  • Analytical biochemistry
  • Endocrinology
  • Human disease biochemistry

Dissertation: A 62-page meta-analysis reviewing published in-vitro and animal research on the anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects of probiotics and live cultures in colon and lung cancer models.

Academic Journey

Learning inside the lab, not just from it.

This research didn't happen in the abstract. It happened in university laboratories, alongside lecturers and fellow researchers: hands-on training in molecular biology and biochemical research methods that grounds GeniusGut in real academic study, not passing wellness trends.

The GeniusGut Method

From study to system.

Regina translated that academic foundation into a practical, repeatable method, built around assessment, understanding, personalised strategy and long-term gut re-education, rather than one-size-fits-all advice.

At almost 40, Regina feels healthier, calmer and more energised than she did at 30.

A shift she attributes to years of focusing on gut health, daily habits and internal inflammation. It's not a promise of what anyone else will experience (results vary), simply the story behind why GeniusGut exists.
